It doesn't work and it requires that you install RelevantKnowledge, some 3rd party survey program.

Summary

You must agree to RelevantKnowledge's terms to install, but what they don't tell you is that when you uninstall SID Video Cutter & Splitter, RK doesn't uninstall and when you try to uninstall RK it crashes leaving all kinds of Registry Errors. Oh, yeah, and it clears your old System Restore Points so you cannot recover that way. Hmm, seems eerily like a virus to me.

Pros

The application had the POTENTIAL to be a great app, unfortunately, it required me to install something called 'System Guard' before it could complete a simple split in video file.

Cons

Installs "RelevantKnowledge" without the user's consent or knowledge, then requires installation of "System Guard", (an app from a completely different company), before it will work.

Summary

I downloaded this app as FREE software. It wasn't until I saw it on CNet that I saw a price. If I had paid $ for this app, I would be contacting the Texas Attorney Gen, (location of the company), and my AG in Oregon about fraud and deceptive practices. It's also worth looking into federal RICO charges for conspiracy to commit identity theft.

Summary

A program called "RelevantKnowledge" installed itself along with the installation of the "Video Cutter and Splitter Indepth" program. The "RelevantKnowledge" program shows up as an icon on the system tray and a window pops up asking if one wants to participate (with millions others) in having one's web activity tracked. Yeah, just what I've been hoping and waiting for, someone to track my activity on the web so I can share and see the combined results of millions of others being tracked. A quick web search indicated other people had problems with the "RelevantKnowledge" program being installed covertly piggybacked on various trialware or shareware problems. CNET should not allow this and it seems to be an error to assure people that this program install spyware free.

It looks real nice. seems like a great product, but

it is much too complicated, there's no toolbar, its not user-friendly at all. i guess if your very advanced in movie editing you could understand how to use this program but all i'm trying to do is split a movie into 2 pieces. not worth a download, honestly.

Joining files

The following example describes how to quickly join two files:

Step 1. Open the first file you want to join with Machete. Open the file you want to join in Machete. Set the current playback position to the point where you want to add another file. Otherwise, Machete will display a warning that the files could not be joined.
